Get Geared Up!

Snowmobiling is much more enjoyable when you’re warm! Stay cozy on the trails and layer up with heavy socks, warm and water-resistant boots, gloves, a neck warmer, a great winter jacket, a bib, and, of course, your DOT-approved helmet.

If you feel you might have forgotten a few layers we have you covered! Our retail shops transform into the Ruttger’s Winter Market with great winter gear to ensure you not only keep warm on your ride but that you look especially fashionable at the same time with Bay Lake and Ruttger’s-branded gear along with a ton of cozy sweaters and sweatshirts to select from.

For snowmobile-specific gear, many of the surrounding snowmobile rental places offer gear rentals, so you don’t have to worry if you forgot your helmet or heavy-duty gloves!

Warm Up at the White Oak Grill

After your ride, warm up with a hot drink and refuel at the White Oak Grill, perfectly situated right off the Garrison trail.

You can keep your gear on for a quick bite before heading back out or order to go with one of our hot, homemade soups or a great burger for a hearty meal on the trails.

Make Sure You Have Your Permit

Everyone operating a snowmobile on state or grant-in-aid trails is required to have a permit. Don’t worry, they’re easy to get!

You can order one online from the Department of Natural Resources. If you’re renting a snowmobile, they may have the permit covered, but check in with the rental business to ensure you have all the proper documentation before you hit the trails!
