Vacation Specialist
Do you LOVE to talk on the phone? Do you have a pleasant speaking voice? We are seeking individuals with attention to detail, computer ability, customer service and problem-solving skills, for our fun and fast-paced Vacation Sales office. Sales experience is preferred, but not required. Schedule includes a variety of shifts, including weekends and evenings. Golf Course Laborer
LOVE to work outside? What about FREE GOLF? Join the team at Ruttger’s as a Golf Course Laborer. This is an outdoor, full-time, seasonal position. Duties include mowing, raking, digging, and more.  Ability to work unsupervised for extended periods. Must be 16 or older.

Laundry Attendant
Part of the laundry team at Ruttger’s Bay Lake Lodge, a busy resort and conference center outside of Brainerd. Responsible for laundering towels, bedding, table linens and uniforms. Sorts laundry for cleaning.  Spot cleans heavily soiled items. Loads dirty laundry into commercial washers. Adds chemicals to washers to aid in cleaning.  Loads wet laundry into commercial dryers.  Sorts and folds cleaned items.  This is a full-time, seasonal position. Weekend and/or holiday hours may be included as a necessary part of the industry. Must be 16 or older.

Room Attendants
Great first-time job opportunity! Join the housekeeping team at Ruttger’s Bay Lake Lodge. Responsibilities include general cleaning of guest cabins, which includes bedrooms, common areas, kitchen and bathrooms; dusting, vacuuming, mopping, changing beds, and helping with other tasks as needed. Schedule includes weekday and weekend shifts of varying lengths. Full or part-time hours available. Must be 14 years or older. NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

Lead Room Attendant
Previous housekeeping experience required. Ability to lead and supervise co-workers, ensuring that rooms pass Ruttger’s cleaning standards.  Able to train and motivate staff, and work independently. This is a full-time, seasonal position. Weekend and/or holiday hours will be included and are a necessary part of the industry. Must be 16 or older.

Bartender
Responsible for the set-up, maintenance and operation of the Bear Pine Bar in our main lodge.  Takes drink orders, prepares and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with standard recipes.  Rings drink orders into register, collects payment and makes change.   Places orders and delivers appetizer and sandwich orders to guests. Arranges bottles and glasses to make an attractive display and merchandise drinks. Washes and sterilizes glassware. Maintains organization of storeroom. Slices and pits fruit for garnishing drinks.  Maintains cleanliness of bar, lounge and decks. Sets up and services portable bars at on-site and off-site locations. May assist with ordering of liquors, other beverages and supplies.

Dishwasher
Washes and stores properly all dishes, trays, eating utensils, cups, and small equipment.  Maintains the dish room and dish machine in a sanitary and efficient manner. Sets up and breaks down dish machine, including arms, screens, and baskets.  Cleans and polishes machine thoroughly, including removing any paper and hosing down interior.  Checks machine to be sure it is operating correctly and reports any defects immediately.  Checks water temperature during dish washing operation to ensure proper temperature. Removes trash from dish room and places in dumpster.  Cleans and sanitizes garbage cans and keeps clean liners in cans at all times. Must be 16 or older.

Salad Prep
Part of a production team responsible for all cold food items prepared in the kitchen.  Portions and prepares items such as salads, cold appetizers, desserts, sandwiches, salad dressings, and cold banquet platters.  Responsible for maintaining a sanitary kitchen work station. Identifies and selects cuts of meat, poultry, shellfish, fish, game, fruits, or vegetables used for cold food production. Prepares vegetables for salads by peeling, paring, coring, portioning, washing, sectioning, zesting, cutting, or scoring. Prepares garnish for cold food plates and platters. Prepares mousses, galantines, or gelatin molds for cold platters. Assembles sandwiches, cold appetizers, cold platters, sandwiches, desserts. Prepares salad dressings, cold sauces, and dips.  Must be 18 or older.

Service Assistant
Assists food servers in clearing, cleaning and resetting of all tables in the dining room and/or banquet rooms.  Stocks all stations with clean dishes, glasses, cups, silverware and all other appropriate items necessary for guest service.  Remove all soiled dishes, glassware, cups and silverware from service station and tables to the dishwashing area.  May assist servers in serving table with beverages. Greets guests as appropriate after they are seated in assigned area.  Must be 16 or older.

Maintenance / Carpenter Assistant
Seeking applicants with light maintenance and carpentry skills to assist with cabin and lodge room renovations. Provides general maintenance and carpentry tasks. May perform minor plumbing, carpentry, electrical and repairs. Full-time, seasonal position through October. Previous carpentry and household repair experience a plus.

Evening Custodian / Maintenance
Responsible for overall appearance of the lodge. Cleans and maintains all lobbies, public restrooms, employee restrooms. May include vacuuming, dusting, emptying ashtrays and urns, polishing furniture and fixtures, and general cleaning. Keeps the front of the resort free from trash. Provides general maintenance and janitorial tasks. Evening shift, with some weekends.

Night Auditor/ Front Desk
Coordinates the billing of credit card and direct-billed guest accounts with the accounting division.  Completes guest check-in and check-out procedures. Balances drawers at the close of the shift. Runs nightly reports from computer and distributes to proper departments.. Understands and follows all emergency procedures. Weekend hours will be included and are a necessary part of the industry.

Front Desk Clerk – 2nd shift 2-10pm
Checks guests in and out and assumes responsibility for any payment used in processing front desk transactions.  Familiar with switchboard operation. Operates POS system.  Balances all transactions at the close of the shift.  Runs daily reports from computer.  Assists during emergencies and follows all procedures.  This is a SECOND SHIFT position, with hours approximately 2-10 pm.  Weekend hours will be included and are a necessary part of the industry.

Boat Driver
Spend the summer on beautiful Bay Lake! The boat driver is responsible for driving our boats, pulling water-skiers, leading pontoon boat tours; possibly instructing windsurfing and sailing; and other water-based activities. Watercraft experience preferred. Part-time, hours vary. Must be at least 16 years old with Minnesota Boating Safety Certificate to to apply.

Line Cooks
Zig’s, the premier golf course restaurant on our resort property, is now hiring Line Cooks! We pride ourselves on a first-class enjoyable experience for our customers, offering fabulous food and memorable customer service. Experience is preferred, but we will train the right person.  Must be 18 or older. Full-time seasonal schedule through Labor Day. All shifts are available.

Lead Servers

Spend the summer on beautiful Bay Lake! Our Marina Crew is responsible for renting out boats and equipment to our guests; cleaning and caring for the beach, pools, docks, boats and work areas. Marina Crew drives the boats, pulls water-skiers, leads pontoon boat tours; instructs wind surfing and sailing; and other water-based activities. Watercraft experience preferred. Must be 16 years or older to apply.

Kids’ Kamp Counselors / Activities Staff
Do you like kids? Are you experienced at pulling water-skiers? We are looking for staff to supervise and participate in children’s activities (ages 4-12) such as nature hikes, fishing, games, picnics, water fun, crafts and movies. Staff also helps to plan and coordinate a FUN resort experience for guests of all ages; driving pontoons, pulling water-skiers, organizing games and contests, helping and leading beach and lake activities, and setting up for events. An outgoing personality, can-do attitude, water safety and watercraft skills, musical ability, customer service, and experience working with children and adult groups are helpful. Schedule includes a variety of split shifts. Must be 16 years of age or older to apply.

Cook / Baker’s Assistant
Looking for an exciting career in the Restaurant industry? Fun, family-oriented resort has a full-time, seasonal position open in our fast-paced, energetic kitchen. This position will cook on three (3) days, and assist the Pastry Chef on two (2) days. We offer flexible shifts, and a wonderful learning opportunity, as experience is preferred but not required.

Housekeeping Office Assistant
Organized individual with excellent computer, telephone, and customer service skills is needed to assist with scheduling, payroll, purchasing, safety training, and other clerical and miscellaneous duties for the housekeeping and laundry departments. Must be at least 18 years old to apply. Full-time, seasonal position.

Host/Hostess
Join our fun and vibrant team as a Host/Hostess in our lovely, historic Ruby’s Dining Room at the main lodge. Greet guests and visitors graciously, and welcome them to breakfast or dinner. Shifts are flexible and all training is provided. Must have an upbeat, welcoming personality, remain calm under pressure, and be able to communicate with guests of all ages.

Food Servers

Custodian

Conference & Event Team
Join a team at Ruttger’s designed to assist business and social guests maximize their enjoyment of our resort. We fulfill meeting needs by setting up indoor and outdoor event spaces; we deliver beverage, snack, and refreshment needs while conferences or events are in session; we shuttle guests to neighboring offsite locations; and any other business special requests. Requires lifting, the ability to drive, a can-do attitude, and excellent customer service skills. Must be at least 18 years old to apply.
